Do you have time to visit elderly residents at the Little Sisters of the Poor nursing home and do a little work for them? We will meet at St. Matthew’s at 1:15pm and carpool to the nursing home (4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC), where we will spend time with the residents and sisters, run Bingo, and help with various tasks. The Little Sisters follow the advice of St. Jeanne Jugan, “Making the elderly happy—that is everything!” Volunteers play an essential role, providing the extra attention that makes all the difference in the lives of the residents.
