The Community of Sant'Egidio and the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle invite you to join us for the annual Cities for Life commemoration and prayer vigil for the abolition of the death penalty in the United States and around the world. 

The Holy See seeks the abolition of the death penalty as an affirmation of the dignity of the human person and the need to defend human life at every stage of its development. In rejecting the death penalty, we refuse to succumb to despair before the forces of evil and affirm our hope in our very humanity. 

Join us for one or both of the following events:

• November 29 at 6:30 pm, North Conference Room
  All are welcome to participate in a panel discussion on the death penalty,

  including advocates across the spectrum. An RSVP is requested as refreshments will be provided. Reply to santegidiodc@gmail.com. 

• November 30 at 6:30 pm, Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua
  We come together for a prayer vigil for the abolition of the death penalty.
