The team from St. Matthew’s Cathedral will start their Thanksgiving Day this year by raising funds for So Others Might Eat (SOME), and participating in their 12th annual Trot for Hunger. You can join them!

SOME (www.some.org) provides food, clothing, medical and mental health services for our homeless and poor sisters and brothers.  They also provide job training and affordable housing and are in the midst of an initiative to create 1000 units of affordable housing in our area. If you’d like to join other parishioners in this 5K fun walk/run (or 1 mile fun run), click here, then click “Join Team.” Enter “Cathedral of St. Matthew” and follow the prompts.

When:  Thursday, November 28 at 8:30 for the Children’s Fun Run and 9:00am for the 5k
Where:  Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Avenue & 14th St. NW)
How much:  Registration is $30 for a timed run, $25 for an untimed run, though additional donations are appreciated to reach our goal of $500!

Leah Rochelle is leading our team this year and will be contacting registered participants by November 22 with details on the logistics for the day of the event.
