At the Archdiocese of Washington’s Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, young people with limited financial resources can get a Catholic college preparatory education. Students work one day each week in clerical jobs throughout the city to help pay for their education. On Thursday, October 30, an Inaugural “Rey of Hope” Gala will be held at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel to showcase this unique educational model and the people who made it possible. Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl, and Rev. John Foley, S.J., the founder of the Cristo Rey Network, will attend.
Tickets are $208 per person (reflecting the number of students at the school this year) and $2,011 for a table for ten. Visit http://www.donboscocristorey.org/ for more information or to attend.
