The retreat is designed especially for individuals who are new to praying with Scripture in an Ignatian way. During the retreat you will be asked to spend ½ hour of reflection with a scripture passage that is suggested to you and a ½ hour private meeting with a trained spiritual director each day from Monday to Friday. A director will be available at St. Matthew’s between 11am and 2pm daily. The retreat will open with a gathering of all those making the retreat on Sunday, January 13 from 3 to 5pm and close on Saturday, January 19 from 8:30 to10:30am. Group meetings will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 3513 N Street, NW. Prior registration is necessary. Registration forms can be found at the entrances to the Cathedral or at www.trinity.org/spirituality. For more information, please contact Martina O’Shea at 202-903-2810 or moshea@trinity.org.
Past retreatants had this to say about their experience:
“The opening [of the retreat on Sunday] really helped gather me for the week ahead. Settled me in a way. For those who may have been unfamiliar with this type of prayer it was a good introduction and for those more familiar, a way to already begin their retreat.”
“My hope was to begin a more intentional daily prayer practice. I feel that has really been established in this week. It was also a way to rest and trust in the midst of the storm outside of my own storms and transitions.”
