Early Music Festival with L'Arabesque Baroque - "Divine Earthly Passions: Roses and Coffee"

The 2012 Washington Early Music Festival features a Cathedral performance of Divine Earthly Passions: Roses and Coffee, by L’Arabesque Baroque. This ensemble specializes in performing European chamber music of the late 17th and the 18th centuries. Since its founding in 2001 by Douglas Wolters, the ensemble has performed with a variety of historically accurate instruments representative of the period:  theorbo, baroque guitar, harpsichord, baroque violins, viols (also known as viola da gamba), and baroque flute. The approach of the ensemble centers on communicating the joy, elegance, and excitement of baroque music.
