On Thursday February 7, the Community of Sant'Egidio, a lay community that meets monthly at the Cathedral for prayer and other activities, invites everyone to join in celebrating its 45th Anniversary with a special prayer in the St. Anthony's Chapel at 6:30pm, followed by a reception in the West Conference Room at 7pm.
The Community is a Catholic lay movement started by several high school students in Rome during the wake of Vatican II. They began responding to the Gospel by including in their lives: prayer, service, dialogue, and friendship with the poor. The Community now has over 60,000 members in 73 different countries, including one in DC for the past 18 years. For more information, contact: santegidiodc@gmail.com; or visit: www.santegidio.org.
The Community of Sant'Egidio invites everyone to join them every first Thursday of the month, beginning with evening prayer in St. Anthony’s Chapel from 6:30 to 7pm. Following prayer, we will gather in the West Conference Room for a Scripture reading and discussion, along with making plans for future activities.
