Breaking Open the Word

"Rejoice with Jerusalem"

This coming Sunday we will hear the prophet Isaiah say "Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her" (Is. 66:10). So, why not get together to share how this and the rest of the readings from this coming Sunday help us rejoice and be glad for the life that God has given us?

Since this will be the first BOW meeting of the month, it will be BYO Buffet night. That means everyone is welcome to bring food to share with the group (I've got basic plates, cups, flatware, and soda covered). Since it will be BYO Buffet night the meeting will start a half-hour earlier, at 6:30pm, so that we have time to enjoy the food and each other's company before the discussion begins at 7pm. We will meet in the West Conference (accessible from St. Matthews Court NW on the west side of the Cathedral).

This Week's Icebreaker

This week's ice breaker will be "Do you have a favorite painting?"

The readings for The Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time are:
1st Reading: Is 66:10-14c

Breaking Open the Word

Breaking Open The Word is an informal discussion on the readings for the upcoming Sunday. No expertise is needed. BOW meets in the West Conference Room accessible from St. Matthew's Court on the west side of the Cathedral. The discussion begins at 7pm and runs for about an hour, finishing at 8pm. The first BOW of every month is BYO Buffet night where everyone attending is welcome, but not required, to bring some food to share. We begin the meeting at 6:30pm on BYO Buffet nights so there is time to eat before the Bible discussion begins at 7pm.
