Breaking Open the Word

Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion

This Sunday we hear Jesus tell His Apostles at the Last Supper, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer" (Lk. 22:15) So, why not get together and share how this verse and the rest of Our Lord's Passion help us to enter into Holy Week?

Since our meeting is only one hour long, we will focus on the Passion at the expense of the 1st Reading, 2nd Reading, and Psalm. If you would like to read the other readings and psalm at your leisure, they are listed below..

We will meet at the usual time,7pm, in the West Conference Room (accessible through St. Matthews Court on the west side of the Cathedral).

This week's icebreaker will be "What green item did you wear on St. Patrick's Day?"

The readings for Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord:
1st Reading: Is 50:4-7
Responsorial Psalm: Ps 22:8-9, 17-18, 19-20, 23-24

Breaking Open the Word

No expertise is needed. BOW meets in the West Conference Room accessible from St. Matthew's Court on the west side of the Cathedral. The discussion begins at 7pm and continues until about 8pm. The first BOW of every month is BYO Buffet night where everyone attending is welcome, but not required, to bring some food to share. We begin the meeting at 6:30pm on BYO Buffet nights so there is time to eat before the Bible discussion begins at 7pm.
