Blessing of Liturgical Ministers

Since the celebration of the Eucharist is the "action of the whole Church" everyone has "an individual right and duty to contribute their participation". Some of the faithful are called to serve God's people in a more particular way. They serve us as Lectors, altar servers, Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ministers of Hospitality and Ministers of Music. This diversity of roles, functions and ministries enriches our celebration and assists us in our prayer.

During Masses on the Feast of Corpus Christi, the celebrant of each Mass will confer a blessing on all liturgical ministers present. They will be invited into the sanctuary after the homily for the blessing, and will return to their seats afterward.
