The Beloved Disciple

On Saturday, March 17 at 10:30am in the North Conference Room, Deacon Albert Duggan, OP will speak to us on "The Beloved Disciple."

The Gospel of John tells us of "the disciple whom Jesus loved." Though he is never named in Scripture, this beloved disciple is traditionally identified as the author of the Gospel itself. Among Jesusʹ followers, he holds a special position—sitting next to Jesus at the Last Supper, standing with Mary at the foot of the cross, and running to discover the empty tomb on Easter Sunday. Reflecting on the Gospel and St. Johnʹs other writings, this presentation will consider the essence of discipleship, an intimacy with Jesus that bears fruit in the discipleʹs own life and overflows to the lives of those around him.

Consider staying for our 12:10pm Mass afterward.
