Archdiocesan Rally & Mass for Life

Rally and Mass for Life in the Cathedral.  The Archdiocese of Washington and the Association of Ecclesial Movements and New Communities will sponsor the annual Adult and Family Rally and Mass for Life at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle on the morning of the March for Life, Monday, January 23. The Rally will kick off at 9am with prayer, music and inspirational speakers including Loretta Fleming from National Committee for a Human Life Amendment, and the St. Margaret of Scotland Gospel Choir. Mass begins at 10am. Registration is required. Register at http://adultrally4life.eventbrite.com.

The Mass and Rally will mark the remembrance of the 39th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade, which is Saturday, January 22. Gather with us on January 23 to pray for an end to abortion and a renewed recognition that "[m]an has been given a sublime dignity, based on the intimate bond which unites him to his Creator: in man there shines forth a reflection of God himself.” (John Paul II, The Gospel of Life, n. 34). The Rally & Mass for Life are sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington and the Association of Ecclesial Movements and New Communities.

Join St. Matthew’s Group for the March for Life.  A group from the Cathedral led by Fr. Evelio Menjivar will gather after the 10am Mass to take the Metro to the Rally for Life on the National Mall and the March for Life along Constitution Avenue. To join the group, meet on the sidewalk in front of St. Matthew’s Rectory (located three doors to the right of the Cathedral) right after the 10am Mass. All are welcome.
