Concert by Earlham College Choir

Four choirs from Earlham College, the Midwest's premier liberal arts Quaker institution, will perform in the Cathedral on Sunday, January 12 at 7:30pm as part of an East Coast tour.

The Madrigal Singers will sing motets such as Poulenc's Videntes Stellam and Palestrina's Surge Illuminare. The Gentlemen's Quartet will sing Thomas Tallis's If Ye Love Me and the Concert Choir will debut Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds's pieces Long Road and Northern Lights, in which tuned glasses and handbells accompany this ethereal work. Together, all four ensembles will perform pieces highlighting the music of New Zealand and Kenya accompanied by rousing percussion. Ending with the timeless Quaker hymn, How Can I Keep from Singing, the evening will be a wonderful way to ring in the new year.

William Culverhouse, former director of the Schola Cantorum, will lead the ensembles. The concert is free and open to the public.
