If you have any questions, please contact Jessie at smyadc@gmail.com. Nearly 12,000 people in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area this year are homeless. That total includes people who are living on the streets, staying in shelters, or living in transitional housing. More than 45 percent are families and about one-quarter are children. While "street homelessness" is the image commonly presented to portray homelessness, less than 13 percent of the homeless people in the region regularly live on the streets. More than one quarter of the region's homeless single adults are employed. You can make a difference by joining our team and participating in Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Walkathon on November 22, 2008!
