Catholic Social Teachings Guest Speaker

Dan Moriarty, Senior Program Officer for Peace and Nonviolence at the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns, is guest speaker on Catholic Social Teachings and "Conflict and Peacebuilding: a discussion about peacebuilding, conflict, violence, and Just War Theory."

Meet our Speaker

Dan Moriarty lived for 17 years in Bolivia. He was a Maryknoll Lay Missioner, working with Indigenous youth and in prisons, and serving as National Coordinator of Prison Ministry for the Bolivian Bishops Conference. After six years in Campus Ministry at Seattle University, he returned to Bolivia to start and run a volunteer and immersion program with Maryknoll. He taught graduate courses in conflict transformation at the Universidad Mayor de San Simon and gave presentations on nonviolence, conflict transformation, human rights, mission, and Bolivian politics and history.
