Simple Lenten Gatherings | Fatima Community of Brothers of Charity

St. Matthew's Social Justice Committee invites you to Simple Lenten Gatherings in the Cathedral, following the 6pm Stations of the Cross. 

Consider spending your early Friday evening with St. Matthew's family and friends - come for the 5:30pm Mass, 6pm Stations of the Cross, and end with shared refreshments and an opportunity for almsgiving to a local charitable organization. This year's schedule of charities is as follows:

March 4 - Martha's Table

Promotes quality education, health, nutrition, family engagement and resources.

March 11 - Kairos

A ministry to the imprisoned. The local chapter will speak on its mission to share Christ's transformative love and forgiveness to impact the hearts and lives of those who are incarcerated.

March 18 - The Way Home Campaign

A campaign that focuses on ending chronic homelessness in DC by advocating for funding for affordable housing and advocacy for the rights of unhoused persons.

March 25 - CLINIC

Embracing the Gospel value of welcoming the stranger, CLINIC promotes the dignity and protects the rights of immigrants in partnership with a dedicated network of Catholic and community legal immigration programs.

April 1 - Fatima Community of Brothers of Charity

The mission of the Brothers of Charity and the local ministry he leads with the Fatima Community. Fatima Community is a place that provides a home to build inclusive communities of hospitality, sharing and caring with homeless persons.

April 8 - Comunidad Recursos Hispanos

Join to learn more about this ministry and their services offered for Hispanic families with children with disabilities.
